| What a great performance from them last night only to find that Celta Vigo have been given a virtual "bye" to the next round.
Very poor, UEFA should do something about this.
I hope they take note of Rangers doing similar favours for PAO last night (I'm not amused at my club right now!). |

| the problem is that one club can have won 1st place and then field a youth team in their last game. Difficult to prevent this happening, other than revert to a straight knockout format.
Rangers' result was astonishing. PAO had done nothing in their game against Rangers in Athens, or in their other 4 matches, to suggest they could win so easily in the Ibrox game. If this was horse racing there'd be a stewards' enquiry.
Mind you there have been some strange results in other groups as well. How can one explain Arsenal 0 Inter 3 and Inter 1 Arsenal 4? Is it just a case of "football is a funny old game"? |

| Ajax should have secured their qualification instead of complaining. When you get 6 points only, you do not deserve qualification. Full stop. |

| that is not the issue Lyonnais, the issue is that Celta and Brugge were supposedly head to head but in reality Celta progress because of a "lucky draw" and no more. |

| I do not deny that the issue you mention is not a problem, but how can you blame Milan for keeping their players safe for their final sunday in Japan ? or Juve for enabling his key players to have a rest instead of wasting energy vs. Galatasaray ?
What do you suggest ? To oblige them have their best player ? They won't play anyway (at least not at 100%). Isn't it better having a Tomasson at 100%, instead of Inzaghi at 50% (or Portillo vs. Raul and so on).
It's like mistakes in refeeering. That's a shame and always hard to suffer when you are concerned, but what to do ? |

| exactly, and(off topic) Ajax never started complaining and Koeman even said he would have played the 2nd team himself if Ajax had already qualified.(Well maybe you can see this Ajax as a reserve team as well as the average age was 21). For Club Brugge its sour but you know before this might happen and have to make sure your not dependent on other teams. |

| nelster It would have really been a favour for us, if you'd had 5 points or more before the game. I'm not going to tell more because I understand that last night's result hurts. |

| UEFA says you can play any of the 24 players you name before the tournament starts. AC Milan abided by this rule. To avoid this happeningagain you would have to reduce this to around 16 players but then you penalise a team with injuries. It's just tough luck. |
