As a Besiktas fan, I had guessed the win at Chelsea two days before the match, but I didn't think of Club Brugge beating Milan at San Siro. I vote for that...

I would say that the lousy season Arsenal is doing in CL is the biggest surprise. But from those you suggested, the biggest surprise for me was Club Brugge winning in San Siro. I hope they do it again in Belgium!

I don't vote Brugge, because it has been a single game in which Milan didn't have to win absolutely. They soon realized that it's a bad day for them and didn't try it all. While Partizan succeeded in beating Newcastle after two legs: And for Newcastle the second game at home has probably been the most important of all season.

Yes, I agree. I thought Partizan would lose, especially from losing game at home....So, Partiazn have the biggest surprise for me - don't forget, no Serbian side had ever qualified for groups until that moment...

| saibot: what's the difference between Newcastle & Dortmund?
Club Brugge is probably better than Partizan, but if you manage to defeat Milan, then it is a big surprise if you aren't a top team.
We'll see if Brugge manages to get a draw tonight... that would be a surprise too |

Partizan just played 0-0 aginst Real.Partizan had the best 2 chances of the game while Real only had 1 good chance. Both teams had over 10 shots on target but the keepers were up to it just like in the first match. Overall Partizan is the worst team in Champions League on paper, but they proved to be a good team with 2 draws and 2 losses so far and they're looking for good results in their last matches against Porto and Marseille , tey will try to get at least that 3rd place that will take them to Uefa Cup 3rd round.

If you look at a previous topic (archived now) CL predictions, then you see that Monaco is the biggest surprise. 70%(!!) saw Monaco ending on the 4th place, and now it looks like they will be 1st! Only Anderlecht, Partizan, Brugge and Lok.Moskou were rated lower.

@JPV: I don't want to minimize the success of Brugge at all. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the talk was not about Brugge defeating Dortmund, but winning at Milan. And: Personally I wasn't surprised at all that Dortmund failed to qualify against Brugge. Dortmund is an average team and in addition to that they had to cope with lots of injuries...

I think the worst we have seen so far is Arsenal, and Bayern München. Out of all the games they have played each team has won just one. I think the biggest surprise is Club Brugge after their 0-1 victory at San Siro.
