| Now the draw is made in uefacup, do you think that a unseeded team will overcome a seeded team ? Which team and why do you think that? |

| The two bosnian teams. 1. They are under rated because bosnia didn't participate at the 99/00 cups. 2. They had a good run last year, one of them qualifying from CLQR1 to QR3, and the other qualifying from UC QR1. |

| Yes.....I think really that the bosnian teams will be seed in next year or in next 2 years.... In last year the bosnian did a freat season in europe in UEDA CUP and in CL. Zelezn. Saraevo and the FK Sarajev. I think that the latvian and lithuanian teams can be seed because I remember that FK Suduva(LTU) qualified in last year and FK Ventsplis(LVA)qualified too and I believe that FK Vents. can won Wisla Plock and qualify this year. The Moldovan team FC Zimbru Chisinau too. |

| Derry City have a good chance to beat Apoel. Irish club football has been improving (slightly) recently. Shamrock Rovers beat a Polish club away in the Intertoto yesterday. |

| to mike, i totally agree you, Lokeren and la louviere have never been in europe,
just the same as NAC and Nec of the netherlands,
unseeded and unexperienced teams have always little chance
But club brugge and anderlech will get do very good this years, especially Brugge. |

| Nec and Nac are on top of the unseeded. So i hope for them dat some seeded clubs don?t make it trough the qualifing rounds. Then they wil have a good chance to go trough, if they are unseeded they only have a chance if they get their match against teh bottom of the seeded clubs. |

| I also agree that the two teams from Bosnia-Herzegovina have a good chance to get to round 1
Furthermore to give supporters of Lokeren, La Louviere, NEC, NAC and other unseeded teams somewhat hope:
in 2002/2003 in the first round UC there were at least fourteen unseeded teams beating the seeded teams

| to Feyenoord1908
NEC and NAC has absolutely no chance to be seeded,
Maybey there will be surprises in the qualifying round but i do not think that an unseeded team will beat a team with a seeding higher than NEC or NAC.
And even if it happen then the portugese or czech teams will benefit and not the dutch teams. |

| NEC an NAC are now the 2 highest unseeded teams according the list on this side. For the rest we will see they won't get anywhere and dutch soccer wil lose more points. |

| yes, NEC and NAC are now the highest, but 3 intertototickets are behind, and they will definitely all 3 go to a club of the big five.
In 8 years intertoto only one club out the big five has got a uefacupticket through intertoto.
But Nec and Nac have certainly chances agiainst teams in the lowest seeding.
The ranking of the netherlands is serious dropping but i think they will be for a several years in place 7 or 8.Place 6 is for greece for a few years. |

| One question.
Greece is currently 6th with 3 participants in CL. But Portugal gained many points with Porto and Boavista in UEFA Cup. Is it true that Greece CL clubs will be reduced by one in 04/05 because of this? (in favor of Portugal?)
One comment also: Greece (Olympiakos, Panathinaikos, AEK), Portugal (Porto, Benfica, Sporting) and Holland (Ajax, PSV, Feyenoord) are always satisfied with 3 CL participations as their most popular clubs will all fit in. In Portugal, Boavista is also in this rotation while Dutch top 3 kicked away that scenario twice (see Willem II and Heerenveen). |

| Counting on 3 of the 'big five' to qualify by Intertoto we have the following top of the unseeded list: Uniao de Leiria FK Teplice Viktoria Zizkov Nac Breda Nec Nijmegen
And the following list of teams that have to qualify(teams getting in by CL can only be replaced by teams with a higher coefficient): RC Lens (-Torpedo Kutaisi (Georgia)) Hapoel Tel Aviv (- Banants (Armenia)) Machester City (-TNS Llansantffraid (Wales)) Maccabi Haifa (-Cwmbran Town (Wales)) Red Star Begrade (-Nistru Otaci (Moldova)) Varteks Varadzin (-Levadia Maardu (Estonia)) Brondby IF (-Shirak (Armenia)) Levski Sofia (-Atyrau (Kazakhstan)) (Uniao de Leiria (-Coleraine (Northern Ireland)) Viktoria Zizkov (-Zhenis Astana (Kazakhstan)))
Who do you think on the left side can win?? Maybve Uniao de Leiria still has a chance to get seeded, but I'm afraid not more. R. |

| As to Lens - Torpedo Kutaisi game, I don't think there will be some options on. It's really pity that the one of the highest unseeded team gets the highest seeded team, French ex-champion, CL participant, and generally ranked 8 from all 120 teams. I think no chances for Torpedo in this tie. However , it's good to play such a high ranked team already in the 1st round , that would be the most important game since last 5-10 years in such a provincial town as Kutaisi is. |

| Seeded or unseeded, what is the different. if you are better (or have more lacky than rival) you will past in the next stage of competition. Last year, Red Star Belgrade was unseeded team and played against Chievo Verona and SS Lazio. We was better than Chievo but team from Roma had lacky and eliminated us. Do you realy think that FC Porto reach a final and win a trophy only just becouse he was seeded team? I don't think so. |

| I think Dundee FC will get some problems or even will be eliminated by Vllaznia Shkoder from Albania. I think Zeljeznicar (Bosnia-Herz.) has a good chance against Famagusta and maybe the Macedonian teams will qualify. I think that 4 or 5 unseeded teams will qualify for 1st round of UEFA Cup. |

| Paca,
Of course their is a difference between being seeded and unseeded. I believe if Porto had been unseeded in every round last year they would have been far less likely to win the Uefa Cup. Porto might well have been the best team in the Uefa Cup last year but if they had been unseeded throughout then they are more likely to slip up even if you are the better team. The better team doesn't necessarily always win the cup. All it needs is one bad game or one bad decision and you can be out. If you are seeded and playing against weaker teams, you can afford a slip up in one leg or you can recover from a bad decision such as a red card or a controversial penalty but you are less likely to recover against some of the stronger sides even if you are usually better than your opponent.
P.S. Having looked at Dundee's opponents results over the last few years I would say that Dundee should edge their game. |

| Dundee versus V.Shkoder from Albania...my prediction is Dundee will qualify.
Sartid Smederevo played Dundee in the intertoto cup 2-3 years ago. Sartid had the advantage of playing the 1st leg in Dundee. Sartid refused to play football at Dens park and spent the whole game lying on the ground. Even 1 Dundee player - de Marchi - lifted one of the Sartid players and pulled him out of the pitch, thats how frustrated the players were.
There was a Swedish referee at that game and he was basically crap. Sartid had that advantage to play out a 0-0 draw, so they could try to win at their home ground. The result was 0-0
In the away game Sartid won 6-2. Dundee were winning 1-0 after 6 mins and then it was 2-1 Sartid then 2-2. Caballero was fouled in the penalty box but got sent off, and Sartid got a free kick instead.
So Dundee were left with 10 men and Sartid scored 4 goals in the dying minutes of the game.
I went to both games and Dundee were easily a better team than Sartid.
The referee in this game was Bulgarian and the assistant referee was Serbian, and Sartid is a Sebian team, i didn't think this was allowed??
Anyway V.Shkoder are at home first so they are disadvantaged for an eastern bloc team ;o). So they need to try and win, which would leave their defence open for Dundee. i think this game will be a 1-1 draw.
And the game at Dens, V.Shkoder will be trying their best to stop the game as much as possible but I think Dundee have learnt a lot from Eastern European teams and will try to overcome their stubborness. Dundee will win 2-0.
This is Dundee manager Jim Duffy's second season in charge of Dundee and for his 1st season he took Dundee into Europe for the first time in over 25years, so he knows what he is doing. Plus he was a coach at Chelsea and will have a lot of experience about european football.
I'm very confident for Dundee in the qualifying round, but against a seeded team in the 1st round? is a whole different ball game.
Plus Dundee went into the final of the Scottish cup so they may have good cup-football credentials. |

| I think like Krdeluxe that 4 or more unseeded teams will qualify like: NK Želježnicar Sarajevo(BHZ) FK Sarajevo(BHZ) CSF Zimbru Chisinau(MOL) FK Ventspils(LAT) FK Ekranas(LTU) KS Vllaznia(ALB) Grindavík(ISL) FK Atlantas(LIT) |

| I dont think either NAC or Nec will be seeded, unless a lot of the weaker teams from the 1st & 2nd rounds get to the 3rd qulifying round, the drop off from the champions league will be made up of teams with around 15-40 points. |

| Statistically speaking, only a few teams have passed the qualification round in UEFA cup as unseeded in the last period (8 in 2002, 4 in 2001, 3 in 2000). I agree Sarajevo has a good chance to win (although I'm supporter of Sartid :-). Zeljeznicar too, and that's a nice comeback of the Bosnian football (Velez, Sarajevo, Zeljeznicar, Borac played many excellent games in the european competitions in 70's and 80's) |

| To Hamilton,
Nice to hear that you have visited Smederevo few years ago. Well, I agree Dundee has played more attractivelly, but the winner is the team who scores more times :-) More seriously, I don't support a defensive style of playing, but Sartid played the first game in Europe ever and they were surprised that they could win a game even in a boring match |

| Vlada you wrong. FK Sartid played in last season in UEFA CUP. First in qualifying round against FC Bangor City(WAL)and they lost in away 1-0 and won in home 2-0 and they qualified to first round in UEFA CUP against FC Ipswich Town(ENG) and in away it was 1-1 and in home they lost 1-0 and said bye bye to europe. |

Sartid played Dundee 2 or 3 years ago and at that time it was their first game in Europe. |

| That's true. Sartid was a third league team until recently and they got a place in a european competition for the first time in 2001. |
