| This is a sad day for the ranking of israel. I don't see how they are going to get a draw in any game, and if UEFA will continue to boycot israel, I don't believe they will have the money required to set up a game outside of israel.
Does anybody know if teams can give up their place at UEFA cup? |

| @mark: I don't think this would be possible...
@eyal: It's nice to have a supporter from Israel here, what interest me f.e. why are (almost) all clubs from your country named 'Hapoel' or 'Maccabi', is there a reason for this?

| flob the reason for the names is politics (this calls for some history lesson so every one else can skip this . In the days of the british mandate in palestine there were three compiting political jewish movments, and each one of them had its one sports union. The initals Hapoel, Maccabi, and Beitar are the names of the unions. Hapoel (The worker in english) belonged to the socialist parties, Maccabi to the middle class parties, and Bietar to the right wing parties. Even today it carries some meaning, even though that all off them are privatly owned profional clubs. Maccabi Tel-Aviv supporters come from the rich society of tel aviv while Hapoel Tel-aviv supporters are more of common people.
Sorry for boring everyone, now back to football |

| I dont think Hapoel Beer Sheva would have gained more points in UEFA Cup next year than Hapoel Ramat Gan will get. So it is not as bad as it looks. |

| the sad thing is that ramat gan is going straight to the 1st round of the uefa cup while maccabi haifa who played in the champions league this season and hapoel tel aviv who got to the uefa cup quarter final and almost beat AC Milan there last season will have to play qualifiers.... |

| Eyal, why is it sad? And by the way, why do you say Maccabi Haifa? Maccabi Haifa still can be champion, and then Maccabi Tel-Aviv will play there (I hope so :-)). |
