| I think it has been spoken, but there was no solution.
POT 1
Barcelona REAL madrid Valencia Inter Milaan
POT 3
CELTA VIGO ??? ??? ???
SUPPOSE : celta vigo, inter milaan were togheter in group 1 champions league, Inter milaan has won, and goes in group 1, and celta vigo goes to group 3 or 4.
WHO will be put togheter for the draw of the second group ? RULE 1 : no teams from the same country RULE 2 : not against a team of round 1
Does anybody know a solution.
I admitt the odds are not great, but with the supremacy of the big five, the odds get greater every year. |

| The official regulations of the UEFA Champions League 2002/2003 give the rules:
in article 4.07 (about the 2nd group stage): - the clubs are drawn into four groups of four, - clubs from the same association, as well as clubs which played each other in the first group stage, will not be drawn into the same group.
in article 6.01: - for the group stages of the Champions League the clubs are seeded in accordance with the club rankings.
in article 6.06: - for the 2nd group stage the group-winners are seeded above the runners-up.
and last but not least in article 27.01: - The CEO will decide on any matters not provided for in these regulations, as well as in cases of force majeure. Such decisions are final.
So, I think, such a case would be decided in a meeting of UEFA's Club Competitions Committee just before the draw. |

| Hi all,
I have put the same question to the Forum last year but without success, so I have wroten an e-mail to the UEFA. The answer is that in this case the teams that have allready played against other will be taken to the same group again! it is more important that two teams from the same country will be not in the same group.
