| Does anybody know, as the draw is on Tue, Oct 8, when the seedings of UC 2nd round will be known? I believe that sonner or later Bert will update his excellent job, but i would like to know the seeding groups, if possible. Thanks! |

| I show below a post I have just made to a Celtic Board and perhaps it will help you in terms of seeded teams. Teams not include are imo the seeded teams
Which team do you support?
The next round will consist of 48 teams of which 24 are seeded. Celtic who are now ranked 58th in the co-eff table are the 15th rated team and are therefore seeded. The teams we can be drawn against are as follows; DINAMO ZAGREB...70 GRASSHOPPERS....74 TEL AVIV........76 VITESSE ARNHEM..77 BLACKBURN.......78 FULHAM..........78 BESIKATAS.......100 LEGIA WARSAW....106 RED STAR........113 FERNABACHE......121 AMICA WRONKI....125 VIKING STAV.....129 PART.BELGRADE...130 LEVSKI SOFIA....142 AUSTRIA WIEN....179 DJURARDENS......199 NAT. BUCHAREST..242 DENIZLISPOR VICTORIA ZIZKOV FERENVARCOS WISLA KRAKOW NICOSIA FAMAGUSTA FC MIDTYLLANS Can't gaurantee that this is 100% but it will be quite close, so take your pick. My own preference is for Victoria Zizkov!! |

| Thanks! In fact i already know the seeded and unseeded teams, by using previous seedings of R1 where disqualified teams have remove. I just wanted to know about group seedings. (The teams will be divided to 6 probably groups of 8, 4 seeded and 4 unseeded). Thanks anyway. Zizkov seems a very nice team and Chech teams seem to find their strength again. I support Panathinaikos, as i come from Greece, but there are a few teams that i like all over Europe. Generally, i like good football. |

| Celtbhoy ,
you may wish for Viktoria Zizkov but you should aim a bit lower in the rankings if you wish to progress. After all Viktoria Zizkov's co-efficient is 14.312 which is coincidentally the same as FC Basel's. Remember them ? :-) |

| I guess one should supporse that main base-stone in dividing tems into "geographical" zones will the principle of keeping apart teams from the same country. |

| cethboy,
I also hope that celtic meets a chech team, so Belgium now on spot 12 can climb hopefully to spot 10 ( probably one direct spot to champions league ) Belgium biggest opponants are scottish and chechteams
so if you play each other certainly one team is down for the next round
It is a pity that the belgian teams in the champions league take very little points. |

| UEFA have announced that the 48 clubs will be divided into 4 groups of 12 teams (6 seeded & 6 non-seeded teams).
Does anyone know how UEFA will split the teams into the 4 groups? |

| You may take a look at earlier discussions in this forum. Only one objective of the grouping is clear: clubs from the same country cannot be drawn into the same group.
In the past there were some indications that UEFA used a rather rigid scheme for the other clubs. But, to my knowledge, such a simple scheme cannot be found in later groupings. It is quite possible that a random computer draw (with constraints) is used nowadays.
Besides the constraint that clubs from the same country cannot be in the same group, it's not clear whether (and if which) other constraints are used. Perhaps UEFA is reluctant to tell us, because of the political aspects of such constraints. |
