| Why did you stop at spot 20. It is between the 21st ans 22nd spot the divides with 4 or 3 EC team. This and next season my country had the 21st spot, but has to be very lucky on Thursday and the coming rounds to maintain the position. In my view it is not important if Norway and so on, is 16 or 20, since it will give the same numer of teams and entrance in the EC. The currently figth among countries is: No.8-9 Portugal-Turkey about a born or via the Qual in the Uefa. The next is No. 14-15-16 where no. 16 has only one team in the CL. And finally the 21st spot who marks the last spot with 4 EC team. There is 3 countries battling for it. The rest are not important and/or likely to hold it.

| 15 Ukraine 16 Austria 17 Russia
I think Russia and Ukraine will slip a few places.
6 Greece 7 Netherlands
There is a lot of debate about the fight for sixth place between Greece and the Netherlands. Personally I believe that Greece will stay sixth for a few years. |

| I make some predictions too, and i try to go as far as 3 years ahead. Belgiums 9th place looks impossible before the end of season 2004-5, but in 2006 I predict a direct Ch L spot for Belgium too. Whitch might be surprisingly when we see the results of Belgian teams so far (both in Ch L and UC).
Here is my current prediction for the end of the seasons 2004-5; 2005-6 (entry tabel for 6-7 and 7-8)
1) Spain 2) Italie 3) England 4)Germany 5) France 6) Holland 34p 7-8) Portug. and Greece 32p 9) Belgium 26p 10-13) Czech R, Scotland, Turkey, Swiss 24p 14-17) Austria, Israel, Croatia, Russia 21p 18) Ukrain 19p 19-21) Poland, Norway, Danmark 17p 22-24) Sweden, Bulgaria, Yougoslavia 13p |

| putzeijs, you made some mistakes in your country ranking for next years. First, Yugoslavia changed name. Next year, officially name of this federation will be Serbia & Montenegro. Second, after many years of war and sanctions, Yugoslavia is making constant progress and there is no way this countru will be below position 20 in UEFA country ranking for next years. |

| Paca, It's quite possible things will work out otherwise than these predictions. Their are calculated 100% objective, buth based uppon the actual UEFA-coëff. If you take into acount the country coeff of 98/99 to 01/02, you get : 4.166, 3.166, 4.5, 3.166. That isn't a 100% clear possitive evolution neither.
Buth I don't say my predictions are better than the weatherforecast. If UEFA changes the UC next month, all these predictions have to be recalculated. |

| 1. Spain 2. Italy 3. England (I like English football very much and Italian - just the opposite, however Newcastle and Liverpool are not coming too far in the CL this year, besides the points for England are divided by 9 and for Italy - by 7) 4. Germany 5. France 6. Greece 7. Netherlands 8. Turkey 9. Portugal 10. Belgium 11. Czech republic 12. Scotland 13. Israel 14. Ukraina 15. Switzerland 16. Austria 17. Poland 18. Russia 19. Norway 20. Yugoslavia 21-22. Bulgaria - Croatia (I am not sure yet....want very much to be Bulgaria of course |

| Now it's easyer to make a prediction:
1 : Spain 2-3 : Italy/England and it doesn't matter 4 : Germany 5 : France 6 : Greece 7 : Netherlands 8 : Portugal 9 : Belgium 10 : Czech R 11 : Turkey 12 : Scotland 13 : Ukraine 14 : Israel 15 : Switzerland 16 : Austria 17 : Russia (16 if Lokomotive wins Brugge) 18 : Yugoslavia 19 : Poland 20 : Norway 21 : Croatia
In the following years I think the first 7 places will stay stable and the competition will be for the 8th place (last place allowing 6 teams to participate in the UEFA matches) By my opinion the candidates are : Portugal, Belgium, Czech and Israel. |

| we don't have enough teams in israel if we have 6 teams in the european cup it will be a disgrace we have 3 teams and the rest can't even win in the qualifying round in the uefa cup |

| Slightly off topic, but what is also interesting is where will Bayern be ranked by the end of the season? Valencia, Man Utd and Barcelona will over take them, and if they have a good run, possibly Arsenal as well. |

| eyal, I spoke about a possibility to reach 8th place and not to stay there. No country from the mentioned above isn't able to play with 6 teams good enough. For this reason I think UEFA has to change the rules to allow 5 clubs participation for countries 7-8 or 7-9 |

| Most predictions put Portugal on 8th place.
I would rather fall back to 9th, not 10th, in order to have portuguese champions safe on CL but only 4 teams overall. Could not Belgium or Czech republic improve its performance ?

| I totally agree with you jpcccc I am from belgium, and i hope that belgium never reach spot 8, if it occurs they will drop out the top 15 in two years, goodbye 2 champions league spots.
In belgium and most of the countries , there are not 6 good clubs to compete in europe.
In my opinion the countries ranked 6-10th should have 5 teams in europe ( 2CL + 3UC).The best for Russia, portugal, Greece, Netherlands, Turkey |

| AsS you see the gap between France(5th) and Greece(6th) There should be a line there to start from there 5 places. But this 6th place makes it interesting, otherwise, what's the difference between 6th and 7th. So I do agree thet there should be some countries with 5 UEFA-places, but to start at 7th would make it interesting to fight for the 6th place!
As to predictions which teams: 6/7 will be a fight between Greece and Netherlands(for now the first seems to win) 8/9/10/11 Portugal, Czech, Belgium, Turkey(If they can get back to where they were 2-3 years ago) And next we have some surprise countries who can have a few good years and will go up and down and reach the top ten or just not: Israel, Switzerland, Austria, Russia, Scotland, Ukraine |

| To jpccc: I put a table from PL champions and runners up since 1938 - very interesting. I think it's really interesting table. That's why I think Benfica is really "pity" to be downclassed as well as Porto and Sporting. Rememebering 00-01 Boavista's title I have a question by the way: what wrong was in year 45-46 ? Years 71-72 seem to be vulnerable for other 2 just Benfica can be seen!(?)
