| if Bayer Leverkusen win on Saturday or if Schalke don't win.
Schalke 4th are 5 points behind Leverkusen with two games to go so if Leverkusen win or if Schalke draw then the lowest Leverkusen can come is 3rd in the Bundesliga. Therefore if they win the Champions League or if Man Utd, Barca or Real win it there will be an upgrade for Celtic to the 3rd qualifying round.

| I'm not shure about your reaction. I think if Barca or Man U win the ChL and don't end firsth or second in their country, Celtic has to play Q2 as wel. In this case Titelholder + 2 teams from Eng/Spa would enter the group stages, and Port1 has to play Q3, and Scotl1 has to play Q2. After this weeks results changes are looking good, but nothing is dicided yet. And if Celtic has to play Q2, the will be seeded and probably qualify as well. |

| If Barca or Man Utd win the CL and come third or lower in their league then they will be upgraded to the group stages as you say.
This then leaves that country with only one team in the QR3 and therefore someone has to be upgraded from QR2. My impression is that it would be Celtic.

| If Leverkusen win the champions league then Celtic will have to play two qualifyers as germany only have 3 teams in the CL.
If Real, Man U or Barca (doubtful) then Celtic will only play one qualifyer, as Spain and England will already have the maximum number (4) of teams already in the CL. |

| If Leverkusen win the Champions League Germany still only get 3 places in the tournament. The only way they would get 4 places would be if Leverkusen came fourth in the league.

| Summary: All semi-finalists are going to CL next year according to current league standings. That means title holder berth will not be used. This gives way to Celtic.
Practically, Barcelona is the only one among this four who may fall out of CL travellers in the domestic league. Ýt is also highly unlikely that Barcelona will get the CL cup.
Celtic only plays one qualifiying round. |
